this is so fun to read!!! I kept rereading bits, you could say I gnawed at them lol. this just fed me so well (pun very intended), it’s so evocative. WELL DONE!🙌🏽
There’s so much quiet tension in your writing, and as I read on I fear something may snap at any moment.
The way you’ve crafted the sensory assault of everyday settings - the sounds, scents and mundane ticks of your colleagues are brought into sharp focus, abrasive almost. I can feel it against my skin. Slight nausea at the mixed lunch smells that should never be experienced all at once.
And the all-encompassing cravings, never quite satisfied. Anyone who has a sweet tooth will know. My inner 7 year old buttercream-fiend has been awakened and is requesting birthday cake for lunch. 🍰
This was such an wonderful read (someone said delicious and I second this), I loved hearing about art’s more sensorial qualities like this - unrelated to food but i’m obsessed with themes of dreams & labour so I was also taken from the start.
thank you so much! i do always try to trust my gut and my senses while looking at art. i think that's how it's meant to be! i love that you are into dreams too. i'm always analyzing mine.
I do the same thing with historical artefacts! I want to put the Jordan almond of a wedgwood cameo in my mouth and crunch it. Cleaning the medal cases was chocolate coin related torture. I am glad I’m not the only one (to have email related existential horror as well)
wedgwood ABSOLUTELY is a Jordan almond! i have some wedgwood on my desk, so now i need to go stare at it. and yes, email related existential horror is real, and it's coming for us all eventually ✨

that's so kind, thank you so much, Shannon! I love that you found something to gnaw :)
A mouth-watering piece, I really enjoyed this!

this was such a beautiful way to write this! Also why do we literally have he same work — salespeople wandering around and constant nightmares
thank you so much! salespeople literally are just walking balls of stress and they love to offload it on the little people 🥲
what a delicious read.
thank you so much! ✨
